Build kicks off on SoFi Stadium hotel

New hotel near SoFi Stadium

The KPC Group

Construction is underway on a $300-million hotel next to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, as the only hotel permitted within the new 300-acre Hollywood Park development.

The L.A. Times said developers hope the 300-room Kali Hotel will be a favored place to stay for visiting football teams and basketball teams, as well as fans who come to see them play.

Developed by KPC Development Company, the hotel will sit adjacent to SoFi Stadium and YouTube Theater, as well as being within walking distance of Intuit Dome and Kia Forum, and four miles from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

The 3.1 million-square-foot SoFi Stadium is the largest stadium in the NFL, as well as the first indoor-outdoor stadium. It seats approximately 70,000, expandable up to 100,000, with more than 260 luxury suites and more than 13,000 premium seats. It is home to L.A.’s two NFL teams, the Rams and Chargers.

The 13-storey hotel property will feature 300 bedrooms including 34 suites, along with a pool and yoga deck, spa, fitness center, three food and beverage concepts, and nearly 20,000 square feet of meetings and events space.

Owned, being developed and operated by Los Angeles Rams owner/chairman E. Stanley Kroenke, Hollywood Park is the largest urban mixed-use development under construction in the Western U.S.

The hotel’s 34 suites, which are intended to appeal to sports and entertainment VIPs, will be as large as 1,200 square feet, with some having oversized features such as shower heads mounted 11 feet high.

Another element the developers hope will stand out at the hotel will be its rooftop bar and restaurant with views of the stadium, Intuit Dome and the steady stream of airplanes on their final approach to LAX. It’s between two flight paths and will be visible from the air.

The hotel will operate under Marriott’s Autograph Collection, a portfolio of more than 320 independent hotels.

KPC Development Company has partnered with Clayco as the builder for the project, as well as design firms Lamar Johnson Collaborative (LJC) and Sixteenfifty Creative Intelligence.

Dr. Kali P. Chaudhuri, chairman and founder of KPC Development Company and the KPC Group, commented: “Kali Hotel represents a pivotal step in KPC’s strategic growth of realizing world-class development projects with partners who share our eye for ingenuity and commitment to excellence.

“We are honored to bring this one-of-a-kind hospitality experience to Hollywood Park that will contribute positively to the Inglewood community.”

Bob Clark, executive chairman and founder of Clayco, added: “At Clayco, we’re about more than just constructing buildings—we’re committed to creating spaces that make people feel welcomed and at home.

“The Kali Hotel project is a perfect example of that vision. It’s not just a building; it’s a space that captures the spirit of Los Angeles. Partnering with such forward-thinking teams on this iconic property is in perfect alignment with our pursuit of excellence, and we’re thrilled to be contributing to a development that will leave a lasting legacy in Inglewood and Los Angeles.”

Completion of the hotel is set for spring 2026, and the owners expect it to serve people attending three major events at SoFi Stadium: the FIFA World Cup in 2026, the Super Bowl in 2027 and the Olympic Games in 2028.
