MatSing and AFL Global webinar Image: Coliseum GSVA

Coliseum – Global Sports Venue Alliance will be holding a webinar with MatSing – the pioneer and innovator of high-capacity lens antennas.

The webinar will be held on June 27th, 2024 at 9 AM CT/3 PM London, UK. The title of the webinar goes as – ‘Delivering High Capacity Connectivity in Stadiums & Arenas’. Please sign up here for free.

In today’s fast-paced world of technology it has become imperative that the stadiums and arenas enjoy robust connectivity. In the spiffy edifices, the stadium network needs to provide coverage and capacity both to the stadium and to the nearby transit areas. The network should be able to support traffic when the stadium is at full capacity during an event.

It is here that MatSing comes into play. The company’s lens antennas boost mobile capacity from end zone to end zone and focus on the radio frequency (RF). Unlike the traditional antennas, the MatSing antennas don’t have the issue of speed. They are able to control where the radio frequency is being directed which is important for covering the seats in a stadium.

MatSing’s lens antenna technology is known to exceed connectivity expectations by providing industry-leading network performance as evidenced by its presence in 50 percent of the National Football League (NFL) stadiums and 35 percent of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and National Hockey League (NHL) arenas combined in the United States. A case-in-point is the 20,000-capacity PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina (US) where MatSing’s technology was successfully integrated into the arena’s mobile network.

Patrick Pesnell, RF Engineering Director, AFL, and Henri Benamou, Director BD, EMEA, MatSing, US, will talk at length in this webinar on how venues need to design and build a multicarrier network for a superior gameday experience. The duo will also talk about how the venues need to design their network for uplink alongside downlink and scale adequately to satiate the connectivity needs of the fan base who instantly share their experiences with others via videos and multimedia content realtime.

Pesnell will elaborate on AFL’s Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) capabilities.

The webinar will be expertly moderated by Neil Levett, Emcee, Coliseum, UK.

Representatives from MatSing participated at this year’s Coliseum Summits held in Riyadh, United Kingdom and the United States.

Henri Benamou from MatSing was among the august speakers at the 2024 Coliseum MENA Conference held at the 25,000-capacity Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in February, and at the 2024 Coliseum Europe Conference held at the 62,850-capacity Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, UK, in March. Dick Bickford, Director of BD, MatSing, US, was a Speaker at the recently-concluded (June) 2024 Coliseum US Conference held at the 76,416-capacity GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, US.

ABOUT MATSING

Founded in 2005, California (US)-based MatSing is a company that has developed and patented new metamaterials to create the world’s first lightweight and multibeam lens antennas. This new approach for high-performance, high-capacity antenna design is more efficient and offers key advantages over the traditional antennas, the ability to provide broadband coverage, emit and maintain multiple beams and to do so cleanly with minimal radio frequency (RF) interference. Nationwide coverage isn’t the only critical challenge facing the telecom companies and MatSing’s lens antenna solution is ideal to meet the capacity demands at the outdoor events, stadiums and macro uses in Cities, suburbs and the rural areas. Each antenna can provide multiple independent sectors, up to 48, providing the highest capacity across multiple bands with the fewest antennas possible. The MatSing lens technology is the perfect fit for 4G long term evolution (LTE) and 5G mobile broadband coverage and it is the most cost-effective network densification tool in the industry.

MatSing’s lens antennas are proven to be ideal for a fully connected venue experience as a multiband and multicarrier 4G LTE and 5G network can be delivered in the most efficient manner while utilizing the fewest possible antenna locations.
