The Serie A team Empoli Football Club unveiled plans on July 15th to redevelop their home ground – the Carlo Castellani Computer Gross Arena Stadium in Empoli, Italy.

‘EMPOLI F.C.’ stated that the venue restyling project will transform the present abode of ‘The Blues’ into a futuristic arena and will also give a leg-up to the economy of the region. The top-flight has said once the rejig work is over it will be the ‘Stadium of the Future’.

The Empoli Football Club is an Italian professional football club based in Empoli, Tuscany (Italy) which plays in Serie A, the top of the Italian football league system.

The Carlo Castellani Computer Gross Arena Stadium is a multipurpose stadium in Empoli, Italy. It is currently used mostly for football matches and serves as the home of the Empoli F.C. The stadium holds 16,284 spectators.

‘EMPOLI F.C.’ further stated that the stadium project will be in the form of a public-private partnership (PPP) and the reconfiguration work will be carried out over 36 months. The upgraded venue will have a capacity to pack in 18,600 fans. The price tag of the revamp work stands at 45 million euros. The athletic track will be removed to facilitate the stands to be closer to the pitch. Commercial spaces will come up and the stadium makeover work will be done keeping the interests of the community in mind.

An auditorium will be constructed and a parking lot with over 1,300 parking spaces is a part of the grand design. The venue will not only host sporting events but also entertainment shows. The above project will go on to benefit the entire neighborhood and will also help to generate jobs and will style up the area on which the venue sits.

Sustainability will take precedence in Empoli F.C.’s home venue spruce-up work and the design will be so lent that it leaves no carbon footprints behind along with energy self-sufficiency that is the venue generating its own renewable power.

Remarked Rebecca Corsi, Empoli F.C. Vice-President-cum-head honcho, “The Empoli F.C. deciding to move ahead with their home venue renovation work means they have their goals set. Extensive refurbishment work will be carried out to give the Carlo Castellani Computer Gross Arena Stadium a dernier cri look. I can’t wait to see Empoli play in their new-look home venue.”

Concluded Fabrizio Corsi, President of Empoli F.C., “The above ambitious venue project will be dedicated to the fans and the City (Empoli). We will carry out the repurposing work in phases with support from the Ministry of Sport and Youth. We want to dedicate the refurbished Empoli home to the community on which it sits and the arena will wear a total state-of-the-art look and will bustle with activities 365 days. The structure will exalt Empoli F.C. stature in the soccer world.”
