Munich SAP Garden glorious-grandiose opening

On September 27^th, the SAP Garden in Munich (Germany) opened its doors to the public for the first time in a grandiose and fun-filled manner.

‘SAP garden’ stated that the Deutsche Eishockey Liga team EHC Red Bull München kicked off the Grand Opening with a game against the National Hockey League (NHL) team Buffalo Sabres (US). The following week, FC Bayern’s basketball team – the FC Bayern München Basketball GmbH – will make their debut in the EuroLeague opener against the Real Madrid Baloncesto (Spain) on October 3^rd.

The SAP Garden is a 12,500-seat indoor arena in Olympiapark, Munich (Germany). The arena was completed in Summer 2024 and it opened its doors on September 27^th, 2024. It is the home rink of the ice hockey team EHC Red Bull München and home court to the basketball team FC Bayern München Basketball GmbH.

The Eishockeyclub Red Bull München is a professional ice hockey team based in Munich, Germany. The club is a member of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, the highest level of the professional German ice hockey league and plays its home games at the SAP Garden.

The FC Bayern München Basketball GmbH, commonly referred to as Bayern Munich, is a professional basketball club, a part of the FC Bayern Munich sports club, based in Munich, Germany. The club competes domestically in the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL – the highest level league of professional club basketball in Germany) and internationally in the EuroLeague (the top-tier men’s league in Europe). The SAP Garden serves as their home court.
 

Grandiose Opening

‘SAP garden’ further stated that the first sporting event in one of Europe’s most modern sports arenas had it all. The four-time German ice hockey champions EHC Red Bull München hosted the Buffalo Sabres on September 27^th at 8:30 pm. The Red Bulls’ game against the Sabres is part of the ‘2024 NHL Global Series Challenge Germany presented by Fastenal’. The Buffalo prevailed 5:0 in a spectacular opening game.

New York (US)-based the National Hockey League (NHL) is a professional ice hockey league in North America comprising 32 teams – 25 in the United States and 7 in Canada.

On September 28^th, the residents of Munich soaked in the beauty of the new facility. Among other things, the guests enjoyed in the new video cube with a total projection area of 209 square meters in action. In addition, the visitors were treated to various shows documenting the varied uses of the SAP Garden.

The five-time German basketball champions FC Bayern München Basketball GmbH will make their debut on the new floor at Oberwiesenfeld on October 3^rd at 8:45 pm. The focus will be on the Cup winners’ first home game of the new 2024-2025 EuroLeague seasons against Real Madrid’s star ensemble. The SAP Garden premiere of the basketball team will be held in the presence of the basketball and soccer legends. The tickets have already flown off the shelves.
