The Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) has appointed a consortium comprising Spain’s FCC Construcción and Saudi Arabia’s Nesma & Partners Contracting Company to construct the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium in Qiddiya (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia).

A ‘LinkedIn Post By Khaled AlOjyan, Senior Architect, Royal Commission for Riyadh City’ stated, “The project, valued at approximately four billion riyals, is set to elevate the region’s entertainment landscape and is scheduled for completion in 2029.”

Riyadh (Saudi Arabia)-based the Qiddiya Investment Company is a real estate development company. The Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) is developing Qiddiya City, the capital of Entertainment, Sports and Culture. As part of Vision 2030, Qiddiya aims to create a world-class destination boosting the entertainment sector, quality of life and tourism in Saudi Arabia. With 360 sq.km+ of land Southwest of Riyadh, the Qiddiya City will offer family-friendly theme parks, sports venues, concert halls, racetracks, outdoor activities, and cultural experiences.

The Saudi Vision 2030 is a Government program launched by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which aims to achieve the goal of increased diversification economically, socially and culturally in line with the vision of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.

Madrid (Spain)-based the FCC Construcción is a Spanish construction company that offers civil engineering and infrastructure construction services. They are a world leader in their sector with over 120 years of experience. Their services include: General construction contracting, housing and development, concession management, industrial construction, and building renovations.

The 46,000-capacity Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium is a multipurpose stadium in Qiddiya, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It is set to be a venue for the 2034 FIFA World Cup™ where it will host fixtures in the Group stage, Round of 32, Round of 16 and the third place playoff. It is scheduled to open in the year 2029.

The 2034 FIFA World Cup™ will be the 25th FIFA World Cup™, a quadrennial international football tournament contested by the men’s national teams of the member associations of FIFA. It is set to be hosted in Saudi Arabia as it was the only country to submit a bid in time for FIFA’s deadline of October 31st, 2023.

With a capacity for 46,000 spectators, the venue promises to deliver an unforgettable experience through its unique design and cutting-edge technology.”
 

A Futuristic Venue with Unmatched Design

“Designed by the renowned architectural firm Populous, the stadium will be the world’s first fully integrated venue featuring a retractable roof, pitch and a light-emitting diode (LED) wall. This innovative architecture will allow the space to quickly adapt to various event formats enhancing versatility and functionality.”

Populous is a global architectural and design practice with regional headquarters in Kansas City (US), London (UK) and Brisbane (Australia) specializing in sports facilities, arenas and convention centers as well as in the planning and design of major special events.

“The stadium is strategically located on the edge of the Tuwaiq Mountains, built atop a cliff that provides stunning vistas of the City below. A New Home for Football Giants

The Al Hilal Saudi Football Club, simply known as Al Hilal, is a professional multisports club based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Their football team competes in the Saudi Pro League (the highest division of association football in the Saudi league system). In Arabic, Al Hilal means the crescent moon. They are the most decorated club in Asia winning 70 official trophies. The 26,000-capacity Kingdom Arena serves as their home pitch.

The Al Nassr Football Club is a Saudi Arabian professional football club based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The club competes in the Saudi Pro League, the top tier of Saudi football. The 25,000-capacity Al-Awwal Park serves as their abode.
