Riyadh (Saudi Arabia)-based the New Murabba Development Company (NMDC) unveiled on July 16^th the design of the New Murabba Stadium (Saudi Arabia), an architectural marvel which will be able to accommodate over 45,000 spectators. The stadium’s cutting-edge design blends heritage with innovation and will be striking and flexible.

‘Asharq Al-Awsat’ stated that the stadium will be a central pillar of ‘New Murabba’, the transformative downtown destination in Riyadh City (Saudi Arabia).

Riyadh (Saudi Arabia)-based the New Murabba Development Company (NMDC) is a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF) that is leading the development of New Murabba, a new downtown area in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The project is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative which aims to diversify the economy and reduce dependence on oil revenues. The project is expected to be completed by 2030 and will span 19 square kilometers developing over 25 million square meters of floor area.

Riyadh (Saudi Arabia)-based the Public Investment Fund (PIF) is the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia. It is among the largest sovereign wealth funds in the world with total estimated assets of US$925 billion. It was created in 1971 for the purpose of investing funds on behalf of the Government of Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Vision 2030 is a Government program launched by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which aims to achieve the goal of increased diversification economically, socially and culturally in line with the vision of the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.

The ‘New Murabba’ is a planned mixed-use real estate development in Northwestern Riyadh and easternmost Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. It was announced in February 2023 by the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as the world’s largest modern downtown project.

‘Asharq Al-Awsat’ further stated that inspired by the layered overlapping planes and peeling planar texture of the native Acacia tree, the New Murabba Stadium’s design is a testament to the fusion of tradition and innovation that defines ‘New Murabba’.

The stadium will feature cutting-edge sporting technology creating an immersive and personalized fan experience. The stadium will be a vibrant community hub featuring illuminated entry points and shaded spaces for gathering and socializing.
